The EXFO FOT-930 MaxTester — offered here in its FOT-932X build, and badged MaxTester II on the listing — is a multifunction optical loss test set for singlemode plant that combines up to eight instruments in a single 1 kg unit: light source, power meter, ORL meter and fiber-length meter, with options including a visual fault locator, talk set and inspection-probe display. Its FasTesT function runs automated bidirectional insertion-loss, ORL and fiber-length measurement at up to three singlemode wavelengths in about 10 seconds, with visual pass/fail analysis on screen.
The FOT-932X model pairs dual 1310/1550 nm laser sources with EXFO’s GeX high-power detector, measuring from +26 down to -55 dBm across an 800 to 1650 nm wavelength range — headroom suited to CATV and other high-power links. This unit’s FOT-932X-SBC-VFL-FP-A-EA configuration code includes the factory 650 nm visual fault locator called out in the title, with an APC (EA) main interface. Length measurement reaches 200 km, dedicated ORL range is 65 dB on APC ports, and a 320 x 240 color screen with a 9-hour Li-ion battery keeps it field-ready.
