The Emerson DeltaV KL3002X1-BA1 is a single-channel Discrete Output (DO) CHARM – a Characterization Module – used in Emerson's DeltaV Electronic Marshalling I/O architecture. It provides 24 VDC high-side switching for 24 VDC solenoid coils and similar field loads, rated for 100 mA continuous on-state output with 1 mA maximum off-state leakage current. Built-in line fault detection reports a guaranteed short circuit below 50 Ω, guaranteed good status from 240 Ω to 10 kΩ, and a guaranteed open circuit above 20 kΩ, backed by a 200 mA current-limiting field circuit with wiring disconnect. The CHARM draws up to 116 mA at 24 VDC from the CHARM bus, dissipates 0.44 W, and is rated for –40°C to +70°C operation, with Class I Division 2 Groups A–D and ATEX/IECEx II 3G Ex ec IIC Gc hazardous-location approval. Each CHARM snaps onto a DeltaV CHARM baseplate beneath a redundant CHARM I/O Card (CIOC), giving an individual field signal its own dedicated, hot-swappable I/O channel within the DeltaV system.
