About this item
The Cisco QSFP-40G-SR-BD is a 40-Gigabit bidirectional (BiDi) QSFP+ optical transceiver that carries a full 40GBASE-SR-BiDi link over a single duplex LC multimode fiber pair. Where a conventional 40GBASE-SR4 module needs eight fibers and MPO/MTP cabling, the BiDi module transmits and receives simultaneously on two wavelengths (nominal 850 nm and 900 nm), so operators can reuse the two-strand OM3/OM4 duplex cabling already in place for 10G and move to 40G without re-running fiber. It presents a 4 × 10.3125 Gbps electrical interface (40GbE XLPPI, IEEE 802.3ba), reaches 100 m over OM3 and 150 m over OM4/OM5 multimode fiber, and supports digital optical monitoring (DOM). Typical use is 40G leaf-spine uplinks and aggregation on Cisco QSFP+ ports in data-center and enterprise networks.
This listing is for a new, genuine Cisco-branded QSFP-40G-SR-BD module with a duplex LC optical interface, sold as a single transceiver with multiple units in stock. Fiber patch cabling is not included.
This unit is new, as listed. The photographs are of the actual item you'll receive, backed by our warranty.
