The Cisco Nexus 5596UP is a 2RU unified-fabric access switch: 48 unified SFP+ ports run 1/10 Gigabit Ethernet, FCoE or native Fibre Channel, and three expansion slots scale the system to 96 ports with up to 1.92 Tbps of Layer 2 throughput.
This factory-sealed bundle pairs the 5596UP with four Cisco Nexus 2232PP fabric extenders — each adding 32 x 1/10G SFP+ host ports fed by 8 x 10G fabric uplinks — plus FET-10G fabric extender transceivers, per the title. One shipment covers an entire top-of-rack access pod.
