The ProSoft MVI69E-MBTCP puts Modbus TCP/IP client and server communication directly in the CompactLogix chassis. The enhanced module occupies one 1769 slot and connects through an auto-negotiating 10/100 Ethernet port, handling up to 20 client connections alongside 10 MBAP and 10 encapsulated server connections, with a 10,000-word database for mapping Modbus data into controller tags. It suits SCADA links and field-device integration where the processor needs to poll or serve Modbus TCP equipment without an external gateway. A CompactLogix processor with 1769 I/O bus capability, firmware version 16 or greater, is required; MicroLogix 1500 is not supported.
ProSoft supplies an Add-On Profile and an Add-On Instruction that builds the user-defined data types for you, diagnostics surface in controller tags, and the module configuration is stored with the CompactLogix project, which keeps spares interchangeable.
