Emerson KL2001X1-BA1 DeltaV SIS CHARMs Smart Logic Solver (CSLS)

The Emerson KL2001X1-BA1 is a DeltaV SIS CHARMs Smart Logic Solver (CSLS) — the safety logic solver at the heart of Emerson's DeltaV SIS process safety system with Electronic Marshalling. A single CSLS combines I/O processing, SIL 3-capable logic solving, and diagnostics in one module and drives up to 96 channels of configurable CHARM (CHARacterization Module) I/O. Units operate as redundant pairs and communicate over a redundant Ethernet safety network (LSN) with up to 15 other CSLS — 16 in total — so processing capacity scales with the plant while scan rate and memory use stay constant regardless of system size. The module runs on +24 VDC (325 mA), operates from -40 to +70 °C, and carries hazardous-area approvals for Class I Division 2 Groups A–D and ATEX/IECEx/UKEX Zone 2 (II 3G Ex ec IIC Gc). It is used for emergency shutdown, burner management, fire-and-gas, and other safety instrumented functions across oil and gas, refining, chemical, and power facilities.
